Director of the Sustainable Development Goals Unit, Employment and Social Development Canada


Mercedes is the Director of the Sustainable Development Goals Unit at Employment and Social Development Canada. Established in 2018, the Unit leads the coordination of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Canada. Before joining Employment and Social Development Canada, Mercedes served in leadership roles at Canadian Heritage implementing the Indigenous Languages Act and a broad range of skills and employment program across the country.

Mercedes is a proud Indigenous representative from the Maniwaki community and is involved with young people in the Outaouais region. She is a graduate in Public Administration (ENAP) and Urban Planning (Concordia).
