Happy Birthday Canada from Ellie Bianca!
Immigrating to Canada at age 15 I didn’t know what was ahead of me. Twenty some years later, reflecting on the opportunities Canada has opened for me. I have managed to get an education and the opportunity to lead five successful businesses one of them being Ellie Bianca a social enterprise that manufacturers Natural Skin Care products with a mission of empowering women and transcending gender equality barriers.
The path that has led me to Ellie Bianca began in Africa where I was born and raised. It is difficult to describe what it felt like to be a young girl rejecting the notation that women were not as valuable in society when everywhere I looked, that is what I was being taught. You see at a young age my mother taught me that with commitment, persistent and hard work you can simply achieve your dreams.
My vision for Canada is please don’t stop being welcoming to immigrants. Let’s protect our environment. Let’s create a culture where daughters, mothers, sisters and Mother Earth are positively and unquestionably honoured. -Evelyne Nyairo
Three words I would like to say to future Canadians: DON’T GROW UP! Just don’t! I’m not saying you shouldn’t be responsible – but don’t lose what you felt like as a kid. We start to forget what it was like to dream, to colour outside the lines, to listen to fairy tales, have solo flights of thought and look bright-eyed to the future. Those things are worth keeping and sharing. It’s the stories of hope, courage, dreams, love and the messy fights we have to keep these things that matter. – Anita Wolf
To future Canadians let’s take care of our home! I truly believe Canada has some of the most beautiful scenery with the freshest air and I hope in another 150 years the beauty of Canada stays the same or improves. I’m a strong believer in working together so for the next generations to come let’s work hard at keeping Canada safe, beautiful and peaceful. – Rachelle Hodgson
There is no better place to live than Canada; it’s not a choice but our responsibility to keep our home in the best condition now and for the future. We have access to more information than any other generation before us; we can use this power to educate ourselves and choose to consume products that help more than harm our planet. Our company truly believes in delivering products that enhances you on the outside as much as on the inside. I am glad that more people are demanding social responsibility from corporations and small businesses alike. Choose a lifestyle that empowers growth, good health, cultivates positive relationships and makes you happy.
My hope for Canada and all Canadians is to free the mind and have the courage to create a world without limitations. Encourage the dreamers and explorers, they are the ones that will lead and innovate beyond our imagination. Protect the peace and help advance the solutions that will make our world a better place. – Caroline Ho
