Nutrition International

The Micronutrient Initiative is a global leader on nutrition. The organization delivers high impact interventions and drives new approaches that contribute to the global effort to scale up nutrition. Every year, working in collaboration with donors, governments and partners, it reaches close to 500 million of the world’s most vulnerable, especially women and children, with critical nutrition interventions.

MI became a signatory to the UN Global Compact in October 2004. MI supported the launch of the UN Global Compact Canada Network in June 2013 together with over 110 leaders from the private, public and non-profit sectors. As part of being a GCNC member, MI evaluates each potential business sector partner based on their commitment to uphold human rights, ethical labour practices, environmental sustainability and good governance.

MI supports the UNGC-endorsed “Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership”, a model for leadership designed to inspire advanced performers to reach the next level of sustainability performance. To support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), MI commits to continue working with businesses to help them utilize and leverage their resources, technical capacity, supply and value chain to help reduce undernutrition and improve maternal, newborn and child health.
