Nicole Lunstead: Deputy Director (Policy) of the Responsible Business Practices Division - Global Affairs CanadaNicole Lunstead assumed the role of Deputy Director (Policy) of the Responsible Business Practices Division of Global Affairs Canada in August 2019. Previously, Nicole was First Secretary (Commercial) at the High Commission of Canada to the United Kingdom (2016 – 2019) and Second Secretary (Commercial) at Canada’s High Commission to India (2013 – 2016). While abroad, Nicole oversaw Canada’s commercial interests across a range of sectors (infrastructure, aerospace, extractives, education and creative industries). Nicole has also held a variety of positions at Global Affairs Canada’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Before joining Global Affairs Canada, Nicole served as an officer in the Canadian Navy. Nicole holds a Masters degree in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University, where her thesis examined responsible mining in Mongolia, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the Royal Military College of Canada. Nicole lives in Chelsea, Quebec with her family.
