To support the uptake of the OECD Guidelines in Canada, the Global Compact Network Canada’s (GCNC) OECD Working Group has put together an e-guide to help Canadian businesses implement the OECD Guidelines and further embed responsible commercial practices in operations domestically and throughout the world.
This guide has been prepared with input from a range of stakeholders, including businesses in diverse industry sectors across Canada, and aims to help:
- Facilitate the understanding and implementation of the recommendations set out in the Guidelines and Sector-specific Guides by Canadian businesses and relevant stakeholders.
- Break down the guidelines to focus on Canadian enterprises of all sizes and types – encompassing those that operate at home and abroad, whether they are multi-nationals or small domestic operators.
About the OECD Guidelines
The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are among the leading global principles for responsible business conduct. Endorsed and administered by OECD member states, as well as several non-member states, the Guidelines cover a range of practices and subject matters, promoting sustainable development, responsible practices, and non-adversarial dispute mechanisms.
