Our Finances

The United Nations Global Compact is supported by the Foundation for the Global Compact, a U.S.-based non-profit that exists solely to provide vital financial, operational, and programmatic assistance to the work of the UN Global Compact. UN Global Compact Network Canada is the Canadian Country Network of UN Global Compact.

The operations, programmes, and activities of the UN Global Compact Network Canada are supported by contributions from governments and the business community. These funders are instrumental in progressing sustainable business models and markets. It's essential to note that the UN Global Compact Network Canada is an NGO and relies on the contributions of our participants to carry out our mission effectively. These contributions enable us to operate independently from the standard United Nations budget and the United Nations Global Compact.

Our dedicated Finance team ensures financial stability, oversees operations, and upholds the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability, reflecting the core values of the UN Global Compact. We are committed to utilizing these resources efficiently and effectively to drive positive change and promote responsible business practices across Canada.

Invoicing Process

In accordance with Canada's tax laws, the annual contribution for each participating company is split into two invoices, with the exception of companies that generate less than $50 million. Invoices will be sent out between November and June of each year. The first invoice, payable to the Global Compact Foundation, will be in USD. It will not include any taxes and will include several payment options. The second invoice, in Canadian Dollars, will include GST/HST. The American Dollar invoice will always be sent as a PDF attachment to the Canadian Dollars invoice via QuickBooks Online.

Making your payment to Local Network Canada can be done through Credit Card via our Contribution page, wire transfers, ach/ eft.  cheques, and Interact e-Transfer.

Delisting Process

Payment terms are due upon receipt. If payment is not received within 90 days of the invoice being sent out, the UN Global Compact Network Canada reserves the right to de-list the company for failure to meet its annual financial commitment.
