The celebration this year marked the fifth annual International Women’s Day celebration to Ring the Bell for Gender Equality hosted in stock exchanges all around the world by the UN Global Compact and five other partner organizations:  UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative,  International Finance Corporation: IFC, World Federation of Exchanges and Women in ETFs.

The Global Compact Network Canada participated in the Ring the Bell celebrations at the TMX and the NEO exchanges on March 8th in Toronto. The inspirational morning included the following activities:

• Ring the Bell for Gender Equality to open the market
• Photo ops and media interviews
• Networking breakfast
• A panel discussion on “Innovating for Change”
