In celebration of International Women’s Day (8 March 2020), during the month of March, stock exchanges around the world are hosting a bell ringing ceremony to raise awareness about the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and the pivotal role the private sector can play in advancing gender equality to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5.
The UN Global Compact, UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, International Finance Corporation: IFC, World Federation of Exchanges and Women in ETFs (the “Global Partners”) are working together for the 6th consecutive year, following a very successful collaboration in 2019.
Every year, the number of global ‘bell ringings’ increases and this year is expected to bring together even more stock exchanges. Global Compact Network Canada invites you to the two Ring the Bell events taking place in Toronto: Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX) and NEO Exchange.
