SDGs Reporting Training 2017

The SDGs Reporting Training is an interactive training program for sustainability professionals to learn how to report on the SDGs.

The first session of the SDGs Reporting Training was hosted on June 12, 2017. The day started with “Ring the Bell” at the TMX and light networking before participants transitioned to Baker McKenzie’s Toronto head office for the full-day training. The morning of the training was delivered by the Global Compact Network Canada and its collaborators, this includes Robert G. Eccles, Founding Chairman of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and one of the founders of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC); TELUS’ Sustainability Director, Geoff Pegg; Elena Perez Vega, Corporate & Stakeholder Relations Manager of the Global Reporting Initiative; and Cara Williams, Chief Advisor of International Relations at Statistics Canada. The morning offered participants insights on the international and national playing field and landscape for the SDGs, as well as best practices and processes on how to tackle and report on the 17 Global Goals.

The afternoon provided participants with a hands-on opportunity to map out and report on the SDGs for a real company. The interactive session was guided in a step-by-step process by representatives from eRevalue and B.Accountability – Helle Bank Jorgensen, CEO of B.Accountability; Ayman Chowdhury, Senior Consultant at B.Accountability; Susanne Katus, VP of Business Development at eRevalue; and Maeva Devienne, Customer Success Manager at eRevalue. Participants had the chance to ask questions and consult with their peers on provided materials and real life examples. All were rewarded with a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.

Thank you, Baker McKenzie, Vigeo Eiris, and the Pay Equity Commission of Ontario for sponsoring this event.
