Shifting to Long-Termism Thinking: Strategies, Discipline & Value

About the Event

The GCNC’s Long-termism vs. Short-termism Working Group invites you to join us for a “Meeting of the Minds” to discuss what it would take to shift to long-term thinking and the long-term value of a company, and if and how this shift would benefit business, investors, etc.

Who will be attending?

This intimate high-level discussion will bring together, the private sector, non-profits, and academia in order to advance the discussion on the importance of long-term thinking and how can businesses and stakeholders promote, collaborate and incorporate this mindset.

This event will allow you an opportunity to meet and share ideas with the members of the working group, companies who “walk the walk” in regards to balancing long-term and short-term thinking, as well as representatives from responsible investment institutions, academia, and NGOs.

What will be discussed?

This Meeting of the Minds will discuss the survey on long-termism vs. short-termism conducted by the working group, the hurdles facing long-term thinking, how it relates to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and next steps in an open forum style.
