Brendan Seale

Brendan Seale joined Scotiabank as Chief Sustainability Officer in May 2019. He is responsible for the development and delivery of the Bank’s Sustainable Business strategy to create value for its stakeholders through improved social and environmental outcomes.

Previously Brendan has served as Head of Sustainability for IKEA Canada, Sustainability Advisor with The Natural Step Canada, and in Communications with Barrick Gold Corporation. He holds an MSc in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden), and a BA in Communications from McMaster University.

Brendan’s feet like to keep the company of bicycle pedals, soccer cleats, alpine ski boots, and infectious beats. He is a father to two young sons who have given his work a greater depth of purpose.
