Christopher Clubb has 27 years of experience across a breadth of financing activity – international financing, investment banking, corporate finance, project financing, infrastructure finance, securitisation, emerging markets, trade finance, export credit, development finance and emerging markets. He has led teams to originate, execute and/or approve more than 1,000 private debt and private equity transactions for more than USD 30 billion in more than 80 countries. He has held progressively senior positions at Toronto Dominion Bank, Export Development Canada, European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and now Convergence Blended Finance.
For the past 15 years, Chris has focused his career on emerging markets – providing long-term debt and equity to catalyse economic development in low and middle income countries while achieving superior impact investing returns. At EBRD, Chris was Director leading investment activities in ten of EBRD’s 34 countries where he increased annual investments five-fold and designed and implemented the leading local currency financing program amongst MDBs. Chris has vast experience working with international financial institutions (IFIs), multilateral development banks (MDBs), export credit agencies (ECAs), global banks and governments. Full spectrum transaction experience – from transaction origination, execution and approval to risk management.
Chris’s professional experience is complemented by a Masters Science in Finance from University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University majoring in finance and accounting.
