A space to connect, collaborate, and lead on climate action.

The Climate Peer Exchange Programme is a nine-month, peer learning and collaboration journey designed for sustainability professionals in Canada who are advancing climate-related efforts within their companies. Through this programme, Participants will build relationships, exchange solutions, and explore practical strategies to accelerate corporate climate action, together. • Access curated insights on key topics, including stakeholder engagement, Canadian climate policy, and adaptation
  • Share your experience and receive relevant feedback from others in similar roles

This programme is ideal for professionals responsible for driving climate strategies, especially those in companies that have set science-based targets.

Who Can Participate?

The Climate Peer Exchange Programme is open to companies that are Canadian Participants of the UN Global Compact. Participating companies must:

  • Be engaged with the UN Global Compact Network Canada
  • Assign 1-2  sustainability professionals to attend each session(having the same persons attend consistently is important for the peer nature of the programme)
  • Be committed to advancing meaningful climate-related work
  • Companies that have set SBTs or are close to doing so (i.e., have executive leadership buy-in)

What to Expect from the Programme

1. Four Structured Sessions

Held quarterly from June 2025 to February 2026 (1.5 hours each). Anticipated to start on 17 June 2025.

The final session will be hybrid: held in person during the 2026 GLOBE Forum in Vancouver, with the option to attend virtually.

2. Priority Topics

Each session in the Climate Peer Exchange Programme is built around a key theme identified during a participant consultation session. The series is designed to move from individual action to collective impact, blending strategic focus with practical insights.

Session 1: From Targets to Trust: Embedding SBTs into Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Explore how companies can move beyond compliance and build trust by aligning climate commitments with community expectations. This session focuses on strategies for integrating science-based targets into local impact storytelling, Indigenous partnerships, and just transition planning, making climate action tangible, inclusive, and locally relevant.

Session 2: Climate Policy in Canada: Aligning SBTs Ambition with a Shifting Regulatory Landscape

This session offers a practical lens on how to navigate Canada's evolving climate policy environment. Participants will explore how to recalibrate targets in response to regulatory shifts, engage effectively with policymakers, and leverage climate ambition to unlock incentives such as tax credits and green finance opportunities.

Session 3: Beyond Emissions: Integrating Adaptation into Net-Zero Strategies

Climate adaptation is the next frontier for corporate credibility. This session supports participants in layering adaptation into their climate strategies, addressing physical risk exposure, nature-based solutions, and internal alignment between mitigation and resilience teams.

Session 4: From Goals to Collective Impact: Advancing Climate Leadership in Canada

The final session brings the cohort together in person to reflect, connect, and co-create. Participants will share practical case studies, identify cross-sector collaboration opportunities, and tackle common implementation challenges, from supplier engagement to shared reporting solutions.

3. Practical and Peer-Based

Sessions are designed for meaningful exchange, not lecture. You'll engage in facilitated conversations, learn from peers, and benefit from guest contributions by subject-matter experts.

4. Solution-Focused Learning

This programme is action-oriented. Facilitators will guide discussions toward practical solutions and best practices.

Programme Fees

  • Large companies: $800
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (companies with revenue under $50 million): $250

Participants must register for and attend all four sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
