“The Principles-Based Approach to the SDGs” at Sustainable Brands 2018 Vancouver

On June 4 – 7, the Global Compact Network Canada (GCNC), along with our Visionary Supporter TELUS and colleagues from the Global Compact Network US, attended the Sustainable Brands 2018 in Vancouver and represented the SDGs at the conference!

The UN Global Compact and a Principles-Based Approach to the SDGs

Our President Emeritus and Senior Advisor, Helle Bank Jorgensen represented the GCNC and spoke on the Expo Stage with the GC Network US on “The Principles-Based Approach to the SDGs. 

The session discussed how aligning your business with the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact can help your company better engage and report on the SDGs. We saw a great interest in the topic and had full attendance!

Helle made the session very interactive and welcomed everyone in attendance to come on stage and share with us what they are doing to contribute to the 17 SDGs. We received a lot of great responses and were delighted to hear about the many great initiatives that are currently in motion! SDGs we’re in!

Helle also spoke on the panel “Do Business Like A Canadian” at the Sustainable Brands Conference 2018 in Vancouver along with CBSR, TD, MEC, EDC, and Sauder School Of Business.
