This role requires an individual with stakeholder engagement and facilitation experience, specifically with gender, equity, corporate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and/or allyship-related initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including a Male Allyship Working Group and consultation sessions with women, in order to gather insights on the Project topic.
  • Develop relationships with cross-sector stakeholders, including community organizations, corporate partners, and NGOs, to partner with and promote the Project and the organization.
  • Record insights to support the Project deliverable: a guide for companies that highlight actionable steps and resources to enhance male allyship within their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work.
  • Support the Project Manager in the successful and timely execution of all relevant project activities. This may include strategy sessions, creating a theory of change, travel planning, and other support as required.
  • Participate in organizational meetings, strategy sessions, and reporting with the wider team, contributing to big picture thinking as the organizational team.
  • Work as an ambassador for the organization with all stakeholders, looking for ways to connect the organization and companies to new opportunities.

CORE VALUES

  • Integrity: Demonstrates the values of the United Nations in daily activities and behaviours; acts without consideration of personal gain; resists undue political pressure in decision-making; does not abuse power or authority; stands by decisions that are in the organization's interest, even if they are unpopular; and takes prompt action in cases of unprofessional or unethical behaviour.
  • Professionalism: Shows pride in work and achievements; demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; and remains calm in stressful situations.
  • Respect for Diversity: Works effectively with people from all backgrounds; treats all people with dignity and respect; treats individuals equally; shows respect for and understanding of diverse points of view and demonstrates this understanding in daily work and decision-making, examines own biases and behaviours to avoid stereotypical responses, and does not discriminate against any individual or group.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of corporate DEI initiatives, gender equality and women’s issues, and allyship.
  • Proven expertise in the facilitation of workshops, consultation sessions, and/or other related sessions, specifically in relation to gender, equity, corporate DEI, and/or allyship-related initiatives.
