Kristine is a Senior Principal Ecologist and Biodiversity Specialist with over 20 years of experience in wildlife research, conservation and environmental impact assessment. Kristine has worked in a range of ecosystems surveying a variety of taxa, including birds, bats, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. She has been responsible for preparing the wildlife and biodiversity components of environmental impact assessments for a variety of developments ranging from large transportation, power, oil and gas, and mining projects in Canada and around the world.  She applies a variety of best practice approaches to the assessment and monitoring of wildlife and biodiversity according to regional and international requirements, including the International Finance Corporation Performance Standard 6 (IFC PS6). She also conducts audits on behalf of financial institutions to assess project compliance with Equator Principles and IFC PS6. Kristine applies the mitigation hierarchy, including biodiversity offset planning, to support clients with their commitments to no net loss or a net gain of biodiversity. She does this by working closely with her clients to develop feasible actions that consider the unique context of each project. Recently, Kristine has been providing technical and strategic advice to clients regarding emerging requirements and opportunities related to business and nature, such as setting nature targets, reporting under global disclosure frameworks and incorporating nature-based solutions into project life cycles.
