Wura Jawando is a sustainability professional with over 12 years of experience in environmental management, ESG strategy, and corporate disclosure. She has worked across multiple sectors including insurance, pharmaceutical and environmental services- helping organizations embed sustainability into core operations and decision- making.
As a Sustainability Manager at Gore Mutual Insurance, she leads the organization’s ESG reporting and annual sustainability disclosures, and has been instrumental in advancing its climate strategy, including GHG emissions tracking and the implementation of a Net-Zero roadmap.
With a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources, she brings a strong technical foundation to her work, paired with a practical understanding of how to align environmental and social performance with enterprise goals. Her approach emphasizes measurable impact, cross functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
Wura is passionate about making sustainability accessible, credible and actionable, particularly for organizations navigating evolving expectations in today’s regulatory and business landscape.
Originally from Nigeria, Wura brings a global perspective to her work, shaped by professional experiences in North America, Africa, and Europe. Outside the office, she enjoys exploring local trails, playing tennis and volunteering with youth mentorship programs.
