Joseph is Anishinaabe (Ojibway), a member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, and has over 20 years of experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations across Canada and internationally, and advising municipal, provincial, federal, and foreign governments on stakeholder relations, and economic development strategies. He currently serves as the Associate Director, Inclusive Economy for the Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE), overseeing the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Institute (RRII). Joseph also serves as a trustee for his community trust, the Wiikwemkoong Trust, as a member of the Board of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) Experimental Lakes Area.
