Business & Human Rights Accelerator

In today's environment, a diverse range of stakeholders—including consumers, employees, media organizations, and NGOs—are increasingly concerned with the impact of businesses on human rights. The Business & Human Rights Accelerator programme is designed to help companies translate these concerns into actionable steps. Within a span of six months, participating companies will learn how to identify, assess, and mitigate human rights impacts, while also mastering the art of communicating these efforts transparently to stakeholders. This initiative was launched in response to a growing corporate focus on human rights diligence and will include discussions on relevant legislation such as Canada's Bill S-211 and Bill 262.

What Will You Learn?
  • Understanding Responsibilities: Learn how your company's activities align with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
  • Due Diligence Process: Establish a robust human rights due diligence process that is consistent with international standards.
  • Communication and Reporting: Master the art of transparently communicating your human rights journey through tools like Communication on Progress, a requirement for all UN Global Compact participants.

What Will You Gain?
  • A comprehensive understanding of your human rights journey
  • Skills to prioritize and mitigate adverse human rights impacts
  • Strategies to engage effectively with stakeholders
  • An actionable plan to advance human rights within your organization and beyond
