Sustainable Suppliers Training Programme

Businesses cannot achieve their sustainability goals alone. Their suppliers play an important role, from reducing greenhouse gas emissions to addressing human rights risks. Working with suppliers to improve their sustainability practices is essential to making progress across the supply chain.

The UN Global Compact Canada is proud to present the Sustainable Supplier Training Programme: an international initiative that equips suppliers with practical knowledge on key environmental and social sustainability issues.

The programme gives companies a cost-effective way to engage an unlimited number of suppliers, with ready to use training materials informed by data, international best practices and our experience working with businesses across sectors. Supplier enrolment and programme management are handled by our team, reducing the workload for procurement departments while helping suppliers understand sustainability expectations and take practical steps towards meeting them.

Available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, the programme has already reached more than 5,200 suppliers across over 70 countries, with high participant satisfaction.

PROGRAMME DELIVERY

The programme will run for 5 months from March to August 2027.

Over this time, suppliers will have access to a structured learning path via the UN Global Compact Academy with content on corporate sustainability, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, and the SDGs. The programme content is delivered as on-demand modules, live sessions, and downloadable tools and resources. After completing the programme, suppliers will receive a Certificate of Completion from the United Nations Global Compact.

All content is provided in English, Spanish, French, & Portuguese.

Live Sessions

Live training sessions will be delivered in the format of webinars allowing global suppliers to participate regardless of location.

On-Demand Content

On-demand training modules are hosted on an online learning platform. Modules are broken down into 20-minute training sessions allowing suppliers to pace their learning and engage with the programme to suit their work schedule.

Downloadable Resources

Participating suppliers will have access to downloadable resources for further learning and to support the implementation of sustainable business practices.
