Atifa (she/her) is a gender equality specialist and is joining the UN Global Compact Network Canada as a Project Manager of Gender Equity. With expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and research, Atifa is committed to advancing gender equity and inclusive governance. She is thrilled to be leading the research and writing of the Male Allyship Action Guide which will address systemic barriers and develop pathways to senior leadership positions for women in the corporate sector.
Atifa holds a Masters of Science in Gender Research from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors of Social Science in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. In her previous position, Atifa built the foundation of the Rise on Boards+ program (formerly Girls on Boards), having worked with 135 young women and gender-diverse leaders and over 100 non-for-profit boards across what is known as Canada, and organized four Leadership Forums. She is a firm believer in destigmatizing mental health in her personal life and advocating for greater support mechanisms in her professional life.
In her spare time, you can find Atifa looking for her next live music fix, knitting winter gear, or nerding out over all things sci-fi.
