Lisa Prime, MES, MCIP RPP, has over 30 years experience in sustainability planning and development. She joined Diamond Schmitt Architects in 2024 as Director of Sustainability and has a key role supporting the diverse architecture practice on strategy and benchmarking climate and sustainability in projects towards a Net Zero future. With a focus on essential pillars of sustainability; Energy, Embodied Carbon, Health, Social and Resilience, alignment includes progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
A former City Chief Planner, Lisa’s experience includes city building through master planning, signature approvals, progressive green building design, digital strategy, performance-based solutions at scale and urban revitalization. Previously a consultant and part of the inaugural team at Waterfront Toronto, Lisa has a legacy of award winning and transformational change for development by leadership policy and programs, Climate +, building and urban design. Her skill is particularly focused on collaborative innovative solutions, energy system implementation and complex approvals. A thought leader, Lisa is regularly engaged in speaking, journal articles, research and best practice sharing.
Lisa’s board experience includes a Director for Clean Air Partnership, Options for Homes, and Canada Green Building Council. She is Vice Chair for the Natural Resources Strategic Steering Committee for CSA Group and has held advisory and course instruction roles with Toronto Metropolitan University and Seneca College. A registered professional planner, she holds degrees from University of Waterloo and York University, and executive program certificates at McGill University.
