Rachael Jamison is Vice President of Markets and Sustainability at the American Wood Council. Her program oversees the development of industry-wide Environmental Product Declarations for wood products manufactured in the United States, of sustainability standards ranging from ISO to green building systems, and of policy strategies that maximize wood products specification in the built environment based on their sustainability attributes. She is a firm believer that sustainability and business success are inextricably linked, viewing environmental stewardship not as a hurdle, but as a primary driver of long-term economic value. Rachael has worked on numerous sustainability initiatives over the last twenty years including organic food production, green building, sustainable forestry, climate change adaptation, and bioenergy. Rachael is featured in the 2024 documentary “Women of Carbon” for her work demonstrating that wood products are a ‘right now’ solution to decarbonizing the built environment. Rachael holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University and both a Master of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Science from The Evergreen State College.
