Shannon Fernandes is the Manager of Climate Adaptation at Halifax Regional Municipality where she leads a diverse team focused on building a more resilient Halifax through developing and implementing community and infrastructure adaptation initiatives. With a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration, she sees the potential in leveraging meaningful community engagement and research to drive evidence-based decision-making and the move towards a more equitable future.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Environmental Studies in Sustainability Management from the University of Waterloo. She is currently a PhD candidate at Brock University’s Environmental Sustainability Research Centre researching municipal climate adaptation.
